You do not need company to roll dice. Shut the Box is built for one player: lay down tiles after each roll and try to close the whole box. And Yatzy plays just as well alone, with your own high score as the opponent.

Yatzy (alias Yatzi)

The 1938 game Yahtzee grew out of, with twelve rows, five dice, three rolls and no upper section bonus.

The Balkan take on Yatzy, played on a grid of four columns filled downwards, upwards, freely and on announcement.

Roll five dice up to three times and fill all 13 boxes on the score card, with the upper bonus and the joker rule.
For a longer session, Triple Yahtzee fills three columns on the same score sheet, and Yamb gives you four columns, each with its own rule. When company arrives, dice games for 2 and dice games for 3 are ready.
